Weather gets stranger every year

I can remember when i was younger here in the Helderberg, the weather would change gradually and then we would have winter. Maybe it's because I was younger and did not really notice things like i do now days or maybe its because I have knowledge of global warming.

Yesterday was such a nice hot day and one would of been sure this weekend would be bright and sunny. But it turns out just a few hours from a really hot day that there's a storm in Cape Town.

So no climbing Helderberg this weekend, except off course if the weather clears up.

Bikini Beach in Gordons Bay looking all the tropical

Bikini Beach in Gordons Bay is the best beach in the Helderberg but also the smallest. Most people go to Strand Beach but i like this beach because of the waves and the depth of the sea.

Strand Beach you can walk far into the water before you reach the deep but here in Bikini Beach you just walk a few meters and you in deep in the water.

Strand Beach is better for children though because they are safer, the currents are deeper and they can play in the shallow water.

Then there is also the pool, childrens pool but that's not used these days as it used to be. I mean often.

Cold Helderberg and Cape Town winter

This is going to be a cold Helderberg winter. Just a few days ago we clearly felt summer end and if you remember last year it wasnt long until the Cape Town floods started. Dont forget about Eskom and all the fun things no electricity brings.

They say its going to be colder this year than last because of the global warming and we can see global warming right here at Strand beach. It's getting smaller every year.

Last year the Cape Town storms had some surprises and I had lots of fun photographing it. Hopefully this winter will be a nice cold snowy winter here in the Western Cape.
